Feng Shui Makeover of a Psychotherapy Office |
The
wall full of pictures is unsettling. The smallest picture/diploma
is trying to hold up a stack of larger pictures. The three
other pictures have mismatched sizes and frames. |
This
area was redone by placing an inviting couch and pillows and
a blanket against the wall, and creating a balanced look with
two pictures of equal size and frames. Now the unique clock
is the focal point. Clocks are an important feature in psychotherapy
offices. |
Desk
area before.
The
desk area has been upgraded by choosing a larger, professional
desk, and leather chair, instead of a “child’s”
desk. Vertical blinds give the feeling of “jail bars”
and cut up the view. Opening the blinds and adding rounded
accessories such as the lamp and side table, make this a much
more “healing environment”. The wind chimes and
plants circulate chi energy. |
Living Room Enhancements |
This
client wants to focus on getting into a healthy romantic relationship.
Her house is very small, which presented a challenge. She
only had one place to sit, a love seat that was full of pillows,
i.e., no more room for anyone else. |
The
homeowner put her loveseat on an angle, brought in another chair,
and a small oval shaped glass coffee table. Now she can invite
someone over, and the coffee table helps facilitate the flow
of the new conversation area. |
Using the Concepts of Form and Function |

There are two clocks on the same wall, showing two different
times. The grandfather clock doesn’t work and is emitting
large, prominent, “broken energy”. The grandfather
clock is not performing its’ function and must be fixed
or removed, or else the occupants will be “stuck in
the past”, in some manner.
The
homeowner has dramatically altered the feel of this small
area by making it much more modern, functional, and inviting.
The warm, new wall color and wood floors help tremendously.

Moving into a New House is an Excellent Time for a Feng Shui
Consultation |

The

During
this consultation, we chose the placement of artwork and furniture
from all of the homeowner’s possessions, without spending
any money. |

Here is an example of the Powerful Use of Mirrors |

Getting
unpacked. |
Hanging the large mirror above the desk provides a very expansive
feeling to the person sitting here by reflecting the nature
through the back window.
Mirrors in the Dining Room |
We
were able to find a chest and a mirror in other parts of the
house to set up a side board area to compliment this dining
table. |
Hanging
a mirror in the dining room can increase your health, and subsequently
your wealth, because it magnifies the abundance of good food.
Be sure to hang the mirror high enough so that noone sees themselves
eating, as this is unpleasant. |
The Guest Bedroom |
| This small, narrow basement guest
bedroom presented several Feng Shui challenges. Because of the
size of the room, and the location of doors and closets, the
only place to put a queen size bed was against a low window
with an unattractive metal, corrugated window well. People sleeping
next to a low window like this will not feel safe because of
the potential for break-ins. |
We
had to provide a headboard for protection and a visual screen
for the window well. Using a colorful bench that the homeowner
had, and rich looking pillows, and a comforter, we created
a cushioned, protected “nest” for their guests.
Adding beauty with colors and fabrics is a feng shui cure
for negative energy in a room. |
Enhancing Specific Areas of the Bagua Map |
The
Fame and Achievement area is energized with an award
and framed newspaper articles about the business. |
The
Ancestor’s area is enhanced with an inherited
picture of an eagle that hung in the owner’s father’s
office. It gives him inspiration and encouragement in his business.
The
fireplace is in the Wealth corner of this home. |
The
owner added positive chi to the wealth area by building this
mantel, and adding beauty and size to the fireplace.
| In
this house, the rough hewn, dark stained beams were heavy
and oppressive dividers of this room. Because the beams are
low, (8 foot ceilings), the residents are affected by their
presence. The feng shui cure, to cover the beams with much
lighter, smooth finished wood, makes the beams “lift”
up and they now are a beautiful feature of the room. Crown
molding was added to further tie the beams into the décor
of the room, and match the existing woodwork. This makes the
room feel cohesive instead of “chopped up”.
This
homeowner enhanced her yard and garden using Feng Shui principles
to place the fountain, grapevines and vegetables, and the sandy
seating area. She now calls this her "Serenity Garden".
The
peaceful feeling of this bedroom is created by the use of round
shapes and furniture that is correctly sized and balanced for
the room. The deep red color, and the matching nightstands and
lamps contribute to the couple's positive experience in this
room.
Here
is a creative example of how a homeowner hung a mirror over
her stove in order to see people entering the kitchen while
her back is to the entrance. This allows her to feel more comfortable
while cooking. The style and size of the mirror fit in the kitchen
perfectly, illustrating the concept of "personalizing your
cures". |
